Raja Kale, Tarun Bhattacharyato receive nat’l Tansen Award
Bhopal. Department of culture, Madhya Pradesh, on Friday injected fresh vitality into the classical arts circuit with the announcement of the National Tansen and National Raja Mansingh Tomar Awards for 2024 and 2025. The honours will be presented during the 101st Tansen Samaroh in Gwalior, scheduled from Dec 15 to 19.Culture director N P Namdev said, "Each carries Rs 5 lakh and a citation. MP Government is committed to recognising excellence across disciplines, and these awards embody our dedication to classical traditions," he said.Mumbai's eminent vocalist Pt Raja Kale has been selected for the 2024 Tansen Award, while Kolkata's acclaimed santoor maestro Pt Tarun Bhattacharya will receive the honour for 2025.For the Mansingh Tomar Award, Khargone's Sadhana Parmarthik Sansthan Samiti—known for its cultural outreach—has been chosen for 2024. Gwalior's Ragaayan will be honoured for 2025.
